• This manuscript is a collection of three texts from the New Testament: (ff. 1r-52v) the seven Catholic Epistles; (ff. 53r-91v) the book of Revelations, both with the Glossa Ordinaria; and (ff. 92r-108v) another set of glosses on Revelations, this one written by the Franciscan friar and Parisian academic Petrus Aureoli (d. 1322). The manuscript dates from the thirteenth century. The layout of the three units is not fully similar. In the first two texts, the texts of the Epistles is written in the centre column and surrounded by two columns of glosses - as well as containing interlinear glosses. The third text is less elaborate and written in two columns. The first two units show significant coherence: they share the same script, text sizes and decorations. Paragraph marks have been added alternately in red and blue ink, and initials are penned alternately in red ink with blue decorations and vice versa. These elements are reminiscent of the stylistic habits of the Paris workshops, where this codex thus might have been produced. The third text is less decorated and solely contains a number of red and blue initials. The first and last leaf each carries the cross-shaped stamp of Ten Duinen. The codex is bound in blindstamped calf over wooden boards, with traces of five metal mounts and two clasps. [Summary by Dr. Mark Vermeer]
