• Manuscript 62 comprises three texts: (ff. 1r-1v and 4r-78v) the Gospel according to Matthew, with glosses; (ff. 3r-3v) a general prologue to the Gospels; and (ff. 79r-137v) the Gospel according to Luke, with glosses. The prologue is found in between an incomplete table of contents and the first page of Matthew (with blanks before and after), and has not been identified as a separate text in the catalogue of De Poorter (cf. bibliography). This might indicate that originally all four Gospels were to be copied. Ultimately, only Matthew was copied, and bound together with an older copy of Luke. The first two texts are dated to the thirteenth century, Matthew specifically to the 1220s-1230s. The text of Luke is somewhat older, dating from the final quarter of the twelfth century. Generally, both gospels are executed in a similar way. Each page has a single column with the text, surrounded by marginal glosses on each side, and interlinear glosses within the text. The decoration in each of the gospels is different. Matthew contains alternately red and blue initials and Roman chapter numbers. Luke has only one red initial (the first; the rest is all black) while the chapter numbers are Arabic. An ownership inscription for Ten Duinen abbey is found on the final leaf of Matthew.
