  • Manuscript 14 is a text by the thirteenth-century French Dominican Nicholas of Gorran (Nicolaus de Tornaco). He wrote commentaries on the entire Bible; this codex contains the commentary on the Book of Genesis. The manuscript dates from the thirteenth century and might have been written in the scriptorium of Ter Doest or Ten Duinen. The text is written in two columns and has rubrics and initials in red and blue ink. Incidentally green ink is used for minor decorations. Many notes have been written in the margins, again with use of red ink for paragraph marks and other reading aides. The last two folia contains the index, with page numbers in red ink and the initials alternating between red and blue. The manuscript contains an ownership inscription of Ter Doest that has been extended to include a book curse, and the cross-shaped stamp of Ten Duinen is also found. The manuscript is bound in a seventeenth-century binding of the 'Campmans' type. [Summary by Dr. Mark Vermeer]
