  • Origin: Based on the decoration (see Byvanck database) and supported by the dialect.
  • According to the catalogue of Tydeman and Bodel Nijenhuis (1829) the binding in earlier times also contained the incunable: Quator novissima (Dutch) = Die vier uterste / Gerard de Vliederhoven (Gouda 1479). Later removed and kept with the printed books (1497 E 7).
  • Textual: (f. 4va) Incipit: "Die mig volghet die en wandert niet in duusternisse...". Excplicit (f. 26rb) "...Hier eyndet dat eerste boec van quisequitur Dat ander beghint". - (ff. 118v-124r) Dutch translation of a treatise possibly by Thomas a Kempis. In the manuscript referred to as Book V of 'Qui sequitur' (the incipit of Thomas a Kempis' De imitatione Christi). Written in the tradition and style of the Modern Devotion. - (ff. 126r-137r) Dutch translation of Thomas a Kempis' Libellus spiritualis exercitii. - (ff. 137r-143v) Dutch translation of Thomas a Kempis' Libellus de recognitione propriae fragilitatis. - (ff. 143v-164r) Dutch translation of Thomas a Kempis' Hortulus rosarum.
