Ce Libentius, prévôt de Saint-Ruf, nous est inconnu ; le copiste a voulu sans doute désigner Lietbert, auteur de plusieurs ouvrages de théologie, mais le présent ouvrage est attribué par la plupart des manuscrits à Hugues de Saint-Victor et a été souvent imprimé sous son nom. — A la fin, les trois vers suivants : « Hic Jo. scribitur et cum simul associatur Et bis ponatur, qui scripsit ita vocatur Conomen raptum Canopi atque vocatum. — 1465. »
