Les ff. 1-13v , qui contiennent les textes "Novum opus", "Plures fuisse", le prologue de l'évangile selon saint Matthieu et les tables des canons, semblent antérieurs au reste du ms. Ils ont probablement été copiés par une main d'origine anglaise (d'après W. Cahn) vers la fin du XIe s., puis remployés au début du ms. qui s'ouvre directement avec l'évangile selon saint Matthieu (f. 14). Au moins 4 mains différentes ont participé à la copie du ms. (ff. 1-13v / 15-131v / 132-147v / 148-227v).
