Le manuscrit, produit en Angleterre dans les années 70 du XIIe siècle, entra à la Bibliothèque Royale sous le règne de Charles IX (cf. reliure). Il apparait dans le catalogue de Rigault II (cote 407, cf. Omont, Anciens inventaires, II, 436), Dupuy I (cf. la cote « 154 » inscrite au f. 1r et Omont, Anciens inventaires, II, 17 n. 2) et Clément (cf. la cote inscrite au f. 1r, « 3888 » et Omont, Anciens inventaires, III, 362).
