  • Manuscript 257, from the thirteenth century, is a composite manuscript with two parts. It was part of Ten Duinen Abbey. The first part (F. I-143v) contains the Sermones de verbis Domini et Apostoli by Augustine of Hippo (354 - 430). It contains the sermons by Augustine concerning the gospels and letters of Paul. Other texts by Augustine have been added in this manuscript. The second part (F. 144-249v) contains Historia scholastica (Pars prima) by Petrus Comestor. The manuscript has some simple illumination: unicolour decorated initials at the beginning of each sermon. The manuscript is bound in a seventeenth-century binding of the 'Campmans' type.
