Manuscrit provenant de la collection de Jean Hurault de Boistaillé, qui l'a acheté au prix de 10 couronnes au libraire romain Vincenzo Lucchino, comme le précise l'ex libris figurant au bas du f. 1r : Ex Bibliotheca J. Huraultii Boistalleris, emi 10 coro. a Lucchino. Cet achat a certainement eu lieu à l'époque où Jean Hurault était ambassadeur à Venise, soit entre 1561 et 1564.
A la mort de Jean Hurault en 1572, sa collection est héritée par son cousin, Philippe Hurault, comte de Chiverny, évêque de Chartres. En 1622, elle est vendue à la Bibliothèque royale.
