L'incipit est identique à celui du ms. de Princeton (Catalogue Garrett 1895), qui a pour auteur Ibn al-Ǧawzī ; le frontispice porte deux titres et deux attributions différentes : Kitāb al-durar wal-laʾālī al-muntaḫab min [kitāb] ? al-mawālī d'un certain al-Saḫāwī, le second est Anīs al-Ǧalīs, attribué à Abū al-Faraǧ wa-l-Maʿānī ?
