Ἰταλὸς λέγει· Εἰ (sic pour Τί) οὖν ἔκπαλαι τὰς ἀναθέματι καθυποβληθεῖσας (sic) αἱρέσεις, des. παρὰ τίνος καὶ πότε καὶ πῶς ἡ τῆς ἐν Ῥώμῃ ἐκκλησίας γέγονεν ἔκπτωσις (éd. Nicodème Métaxas, Constantinople 1627, pp. 9, l. 23-14, l. 6, sous le nom de Maxime Margounios à la suite d’œuvres de Grégoire Palamas et Georges Scholarios ; cf. Legrand, Bibliogr. hellénique, XVIIe s., t. I, p. 238). La plus grande partie du texte (ff. 6, l. 17-9), inc. Λεύκιός τις ὀνόματι τὴν δι' ἀστρονομίας γοητευτικὴν, des. ἔκπτωσις, est une citation textuelle d’un opuscule sur les origines du schisme (éd. J. Hergenröther, Monumenta græca ad Photium ejusque historiam pertinentia…, Ratisbonne 1869, pp. 171-181).
