Notes

Source des données : Leiden University Libraries Digital Collections

  • Textual: (ff. 1r-43r) Aethicus Ister is probably a fictitious traveller/author. In the text, (Pseudo-)Jerome claims to be the translator of Ister's work. It is currently thought that Virgil of Salzburg is the true author of the text. - (ff. 44r-47v) Contains short remarks on the first to the 14th king of Rome. The entrance on the fifth king is empty.
  • Also described by MMDC.
  • Bought as part of the Burmannus collection at the auction of his library in 1779.
