Les restaurations successives des vitraux ont entraîné un tel bouleversement des inscriptions qu'il n'est plus possible de se représenter avec exactitude l'état primitif. Le plus ancien relevé des textes a été fourni par l'abbé Auber, en 1848. Il est conforme aux photographies prises en avril 1884, avant la restauration des trois vitraux par Steinheil.
